An attractive four panel, six legged, George III Oak settle. With its decorative fan shaped carving to rear, upon its four raised and fielded panels. It has original out swept side arms, and these lead down to out swept cabriole legs with matching centre leg. This settle would have originally had an overstuffed seat pad which would have fitted in the centre of the wooden seat. As you can appreciate, in its lifetime it has been re boarded in solid Oak planks, but has been fitted with an attractive cream cushion which can be easily removed. The item is in overall good condition but has had some strengthening pieces to the corner front legs which have been screwed to the underside of this settle. This makes this piece extremely sturdy for everyday use.
