George III Oak Low Boy, Side Table

A lovely example of a Georgian oak lowboy (side table), with one long drawer over a shaped apron sitting on cabriole legs ending in pad feet.
Featuring the original pierced brass handles and escutcheon, this pretty console table is full of charm and character. The oak has aged wonderfully with the striking grain producing a lovely patina.
This piece is in a good solid condition. There is an historic repair to one rear leg (back right - see photo).
In addition, the back legs have been built up to correct the fact they were cut down by a few inches in the past - this was commonly done in the 19th century to ensure antique tables sat level on the wonky floors! For a table dated to circa 1820, these little details add to the overall history of the piece and makes for an interesting talking point!
Dimensions:
Height: 70 cm
Width: 76 cm
Depth: 47 cm
