George III Mahogany Breakfront Bookcase George III Mahogany Breakfront %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A rare example of a George III, Mahogany, breakfront library bookcase. Featuring a large glazed top section with four doors, which open up to reveal the original slide in shelves. This sits upon a cupboard base, with four doors centre section having pull out oak slides. This is flanked by two further sections with sliding shelves. As you can see from the photographs that we have provided, the bookcase is in good condition considering its age (circa 1800). However, as you can appreciate, it has had some wear and tear during its life. Sadly, one of the original glass panels is broken, there are some loose pieces of moulding, but this can easily be repaired. This bookcase originated from Swyncombe rectory in Oxfordshire. This piece breaks down into eight pieces for ease of transportation and reassembly. Please feel free to contact us if you require any further information.
