Superb quality George III mahogany bachelor’s chest of drawers c.1800. Useful small proportions, just 36″ wide. With a baize brushing slide over two short and three long drawers of graduated depth. Solid mahogany joined top with moulded edge, turned quarter columns to the front corners, solid mahogany sides, crisp base mouldings and shaped bracket feet to the front and rear. Cockbeaded drawer fronts with flame mahogany veneers on solid mahogany groundwork and the original brass handles. Oak drawer linings. Repairs to the timber on both sides and missing a portion of the brass escutcheons to the two lower drawers. Otherwise excellent condition and particularly good colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
