George II Yew Wood Dressing Table c.1735

A truly superb English yew wood knee hole dressing table with an absolutely fantastic colour and very rich natural patination.
Of the finest quality and in exceptional original condition, with original brass banding to the bookmatched yew wood top, original brass handles and escutcheons, wainscot oak lined drawers, original brass H hinges to the kneehole door, yew brushing slide and original steel locks.
This is an extremely beautiful example, made in c. 1735, in a rarely seen and beautiful timber in creams and browns with natural dark inclusions.
Retaining original drawer linings, bracket feet and backboards. The drawers run smoothly and are beautifully made with very fine dovetailed joints and beautiful inlaid borders to the drawer fronts and to the top. The sides and brushing slide are also dressed in yew wood.
The kneehole door opens to reveal the original fixed shelf. Some drawers numbered in pencil (and on the carcase) in Georgian script.
Most strongly recommended, an exceptional early 18th century dressing table.
Dimensions are:
33 inches wide, 32 inches high, 19 inches deep.
To the top of the brushing slide is 31 inches.
Usable drawer depths are: long frieze drawer 4.25 inches, flanking drawers 5.5 inches. I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.
I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
