George I Walnut Double Dome Bookcase on Chest
An exceptional and original George I walnut double dome bookcase on chest, circa 1720-1730. To the bookcase, original well-shaped moulded double dome arches to the front and sides.
The shaped break-arch doors with original glass sit inside moulded frames, opening on shaped gilt-brass chased strap hinges , with old papered interior. Raised on two short over three long oak-lined graduating drawers, each double book-matched and framed to each side with fine feather-banding and cross banding.
Standing on original shaped bracket feet with old replacement handles. Bookcase depth 39cm Customers are more than welcome to come and view and collect items from the unit in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire Gl54 5JE (appointment only). All items are checked and restored to a professional standard before leaving.
