Geometric Parquetry Writing Box In Burr Walnut
Really very beautiful geometric parquetry “Tonbridge” ware writing box or slope, circa 1880.
Beautifully inlaid and a wonderful colour, this box will look amazing wherever you put it.
The colour of the burr walnut and the contrasts of the parquetry are superb
The interior is a little worn, but does have the hidden three drawers which is nice, although is missing the original ink wells…not such an issue if the box is the real star of the show over the interior!
Measuring:
17 cm high
50 cm wide
25.5 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
