Geo.I Walnut Chest on Chest

For lovers of early 18th century walnut, this outstanding chest on chest is a delight. The chest is all original, including the brass wear. In fact all that was needed when we purchased it was to replace 3 small pieces of veneer and give it a good polish. It is astonishing to find a piece in such original and untouched condition.
The drawers are burr walnut with herringbone inlay surrounded by 1" of crossbanding and terminating in an ovolu lip mold. The drawers are all oak lined. Judging from his choice of timbers this would suggest it was made by a top cabinetmaker of the period.
The base, which has 3 long drawers, stands on bracket feet and benefits from a brushing slide. The top has 3 long and 3 short drawers and has canted corners and fluted edges. The sides are straight grain walnut.
Width: 46" (117cm)
Height: 73" (185cm)
Depth: 22" (55cm) All items are sold with a 14 day money back guarantee. In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase, we will gladly issue a refund (excluding carriage costs). The item must be returned in the same condition as it left us. The refund will be issued on the item's return to our premises.
