Gents 9ct gold Smiths De Luxe watch, box & papers
A gents 9 carat gold Smiths De Luxe wrist watch with box and papers.
The watch has a hand-winding movement, 15-jewels, made in England, which is working nicely.
The watch itself measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1957, with a maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison who made cases for many watch companies. The case has the odd mark but overall is in lovely condition.
The back of the watch has a long service engraving from an Oldbury iron founders of Halesowen, dated 1961.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in lovely condition with original hands.
The watch comes with its original guarantee from when the watch was purchased in March 1962 from a West Bromwich jeweller. We often see long service watches that were purchased after the anniversary date and have concluded that watches were presented when the employee left their position rather than on the actual anniversary (perhaps avoiding a second gift).
The watch also comes in its original Smiths De Luxe presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
