Gents 1950s Le Cheminant Skymaster triple date wrist watch.

John Le Cheminant founded Le Cheminant Watch Company in 1822. Originally the company was a jeweller but went on to become a watch maker and, in the early 20th century, supplied chronometers and deck watches to the Royal Navy. Since the 1950s it concentrated on watches, such as the example we have here.

This particular watch has a 17-jewel automatic movement, a Felsa 693, which is working nicely.

The watch measures 36mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The main body of the case is gold plated while the screw-on case back is stainless steel. There is a little rubbing to the tips of the lugs and to a little wear to the plate on the back of the watch but overall the condition is good. The case back has a few scratches, and it also states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.

The lens has very light marking but is very acceptable.

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hour and minute hands, centre seconds hand and date display hand. There are day / date apertures and a moonphase feature. The buttons to initially set the various functions are on the side of the case.

The watch has a vintage leather strap.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
