Very decorative French Louis XV style walnut veneered slightly “bombe” shape rouge marble top commode / chest of drawers, circa 1920.
Wonderful warm colour to the chevron veneered walnut and contrasts so well with the original gilt ormolu drawer handles and mounts…also has this fabulous shaped rouge marble top.
Currently no key, but I will try to find a suitable one so you have a working lock or otherwise just a decorative brass key.
Offers storage with great style, whether this is a bedroom piece or will work as a decorative focal piece in a living room.
Drawers all running well, cleaned and beeswax polished, marble also in good condition too.
Measuring:
31 3/4 inches or 81 cm high
48 inches or 122 cm maximum width
20 3/4 inches of 52.5 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!

Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
