A stunning and exotic antique box dating to around 1820, Regency in era. The magical and highly decorative grain is what really makes this piece together with it's wonderful shape standing on four original gilded Lion's paw feet.

The front has a mother of pearl escutcheon, which houses a working key. The top has retained the original brass handle.

The box opens to reveal a nice clean interior having been re-lined in a hand-marbled paper in a rich colour.

Excellent condition. The footprint measuring 8 1/2" x 5 3/4" the lid measuring 10 3/4" x 8" and standing 6" tall excluding the handle.
