Superb late 18th.c. French oak dresser base c.1790. Three plank top with thumb moulded edge over two small knife drawers and two door cupboard base fitted with a single shelf inside. Particularly good decorative front with shaped raised and fielded door panels, lovely floral carved decoration, oversized steel hinges and escutcheon plates with heart-shaped cutaways, and a shaped apron and front feet. Oak panelled sides and floor boards, elm back panels. Some old damage toward the left hand side of the top. Otherwise excellent condition and very good colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Original lock and key.
