Here is a rare and stunning quality French Louis XVI style carved walnut canapé couch, circa 1880, from the 3rd Empire period. The couch which has been freshly upholstered, is constructed of solid walnut and features a stunning carved central cartouche flanked by further floral carvings to the bowed top rail frame above three shaped upholstered padded backs that slope towards arms which are adorned by acanthus leaf and lattice scribe carvings. The base of the couch is firmly sprung so that you do not sink into the seats but at the same time is extremely comfortable. The couch has been freshly upholstered in top quality gold embossed silk & cotton brocade upholstery. The front of the couch features a serpentine design interspersed with floral carvings. The couch stands on elegant carved cabriole legs.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the bedroom, living room, and dining room to the conservatory. This item would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are an extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

This item is solid in joint, does not wobble and is ready to use.

A two-man delivery to any address in mainland England & Wales is £79. If you wish to avoid the delivery cost, you can collect the item in person. Delivery will be made by our own specialised antique furniture delivery service, or in some cases we will use a courier service for distant deliveries.
