A French Château 5ft Double Bed, this is a beautifully carved piece from the North of France
The bed is made in Pine with the carvings in Gesso and Gold, the headboard is crested with elaborate Scroll like Rococo swags and it is upholstered in pale cream, this section of the bed can be easily removed and it would be very simple to have it re covered in your own fabric
The foot board is very low in the French style with carved finials at each side, this style of bed displays linens beautifully
This is a superb piece it is around 150 years old it is in good condition, though there is plenty of genuine shabby wear on of the age darkened gold paint, I have had it treated for wood worm but there are no visible signs
