French Carved Rococo Gold Château 5Ft Double Bed with Quirky Zebra Upholstery
The Head board of this bed has the most beautifully scrolled shape, the show wood is carved in the Rococo style with flowers and leaves, the sides too have this decoration as has the foot board.
The bed dates from around 1880 the age darkened gold paint has been given a surprising new slant with Zebra Print upholstery, the fabric is a light plush to simulate the pelt of natural fur
The Original Gesso and Gold finish of the show wood has been retained in its shabby finish and the bed is supplied with a new pine base to accommodate a 60” x 74” mattress (English size)
The head board is 48” high and 60” wide, and the foot board is 29” high
