This is a stunning set of 6 Chinese pith paintings of figures from the Qing Court displayed in a row within their original carved hardwood frame, late 19th or early 20th century. Each figure is painted in detail with strong vibrant colours and is enclosed by an arch-shaped gilded mount made from wood veneer.

Dimensions: 108 x 31 cm (42 1/2" x 12")
Weight 4 kg

Condition: The paintings are in excellent condition having been protected by the frame and glass. The wood veneer mount has some shrinkage splits which are restricted to the right end of the picture. The back (not shown) has its original backing paper and brass wire for hanging on the wall.
