Tapestry Foot Stool - Blue Textile - c1870

This lovely Victorian period stool is a charming example and a useful size.

The stool displays a pleasing shape and is good for use as a footstool or a low stool to sit upon.
The upper is covered with a quality needlepoint tapestry textile depicting a central floral motif. The tapestry fabric benefits good condition and displays well. The piece has been very nicely upholstered with velvet side panels with matching lower brocade.

The stool stands upon attractive flat bun feet which protrude from the mahogany frame.

Overall a lovely footstool and piece of antique furniture which is both functional and looks gorgeous.
