A truly stunning cup and saucer designed by Freda Beardmore for the 1934 Art in Industry exhibition at Harrods. Both Clarice Cliff and Foley provided ceramics for the exhibition by notable artists of the day including Paul Nash, Laura Knight, Vanessa Bell and Graham Sutherland.
Freda Beardmore headed the project for Foley and this is one of her own designs. In immaculate condition and both pieces ring perfectly. No chips, cracks, hairlines or crazing. Marked and signed to the base of the cup although the saucer is unmarked.
