First Period Worcester Blue Scale & Kakiemon Dish
A pretty Worcester porcelain dessert dish / shallow bowl with a blue scale ground and mirror and vase shape reserves decorated in the Japanese style in a kakiemon palette with garden floral scenes and one panel with a wheatsheaf. All reserves ornately framed in gold and with a gilt rim. Fretted square mark, c.1770.
It measures 18.8cm (7 3/8") wide and 3.8cm (1 1/2") high.
Condition is fair and it displays well. It has a partial hairline that extends from the rim and spirals around the centre. This has been professionally stabilised. There is also a small chip to the rim. Very light surface wear, just very minor wear to the gilt at the rim. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
