A fine early Victorian period watercolour of a gentleman by E. Heaton, dated 1839. The painting is beautifully and finely observed, and exquisite in detail. I can find no record of E.Heaton and it is possible that he is the sitter not the artist. The painting is in excellent condition, the colours are bright and there are only the usual signs of age. The portrait is mounted on the original grey backing card. The portrait is mounted in the original superb gilt frame, it is in excellent country house condition with just the usual wear and no losses. The whole is a great period antique in just stunning condition with a wonderful period look.
