A superb Victorian burr walnut and marquetry inlaid oval coffee table from the workshops of I. Waterer & Son of Chertsy (stamped on base, see photo). The beautifully book matched veneered top having a wide boxwood inlaid band of trailing vine leaves and grapes with a thumb moulded edge and cross banded frieze. The base with a central turned and carved column which is supported by 4 cabriole legs with very good carved harebells and foliage and scroll feet. The original brass casters with brown porcelain wheels. This Victorian oval table has been reduced in height to suit todays living and has a wonderful patina that shows off the beautiful marquetry and burr walnut. Transports in 2 pieces.
