A really good quality Victorian copper cooking pot with original lid which is often missing. The pot is beautifully made in the early fashion with a seamed edge and base. It has a lovely weight, and feel, and the copper is of a good colour and condition. The pot is engraved with 'EP' and 'A' and the 'A' is repeated on the lid. The engraving would usually be to show ownership and often the house or property they were for. It denotes a fine provenance as only the better houses would have large expensive ranges of kitchen wears worthy of engraving to keep safe. The pot is of a good large size and an unusual and fine piece of kitchenalia . C.1860.
