Fine pair of Scottish elm arm chairs pair Georgian arm %%alt5%%
Good and hard to find pair of early 19th century Scottish arm chairs. Made of elm they retain the most georgous colour and patination, infact you would think they were yew-wood until you look very close.

Being country made there are slight differences in them but they are obviously a pair, made by the same hand. The slight differences are the turnings under the arms and slight difference in the height of the arm joints at the top.

Square tapered legs united by stretchers. Scratch bead decoration and moulded thin uprights to the back.

Basically a very nice pair of Scottish chairs.
