This is a fabulous four fold painted leather screen which dates from around the late 19th century. The screen has a most entertaining scene with a retriever dog chasing through a magnificent country park after the ducks in the lake. This scene is beautifully painted in strong and vibrant colours and it has a lovely deep border with rich red flowers and animals such as other dogs and parrots.
The screen is in very good condition for its age it is a plain black to the reverse with one or two small breaks. The front is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. There is a handle to each side of the screen and it looks great stood on the floor but it appears to have been mounted flat on a wall at some point, and it would indeed look magnificent hung as painting in any large space.
This is a good size, standing 190 cms tall and each panel 55 cms so a full width of 220 cms when opened fully. It would have great impact in many situations.
