Extending Marble Top Table by Gillows Paris c.1910
Rare Edwardian era marble top extending table by Waring & Gillow of Paris c.1910. Two piece oval marble top with an applied border decoration and thumb moulded and carved edge. Over a mahogany apron and square tapering legs with Adams style carved floral decoration and moulded spade feet. Unusually the table slides open on a telescopic oak frame to a impressive maximum length of 118″, with two folding legs to support the centre. Unfortunately we do not have the extra middle leaves though two hardwood leaves could be made should you wish. Maker’s badge for Waring & Gillow Paris to the underside. Good condition with only minor wear to the marble.
One of the most celebrated names in British antique furniture, Gillows opened their Paris branch on the Champs Elysees in 1906, retailing fine antique furniture and undertaking full interior design schemes for the city’s wealthiest families. The influential designer Paul Follot was a later director of the Paris branch.
Dimensions: length 59″ – 118″, width 43″, height 29½". Please contact us for more images, delivery and shipping quotes. Alternatively you are welcome to view and collect at our large warehouse showroom in Llandudno Junction, North Wales (approximately 45mins from Chester). We have a large and ever changing selection of genuine good quality antique furniture of all types and have twice been shortlisted for the Home and Antiques Magazine Antique Shop of the Year Award. 01492 580022.
