A stunning late 19th Century leather screen beautifully painted with blossoms and exoric birds perched on branches and cliffs, this scene is continuous over the four panels. The shaded gilt background and studded borders provide an excellent foil to the decoration. The condition is good, there is slight damage to two of the back panels but this is fairly minor and doesn't extend through to the front. Please see photos of the reverse. The painting is in very good order and the colours are bright and clear. The screen stands well with no wobbles. A really beautiful decorative item.
