Exceptional Welsh Ash Box Settle c1800
A truly jaw dropping Welsh Box Settle of outstanding traditional form. Constructed completely from quality Welsh Ash, an extremely rare and special timber to entirely construct a settle from, the only example we have ever seen, and it is incredible.
In exceptional original condition with the most beautiful colour and patina and stunning grain throughout. Having a gently sloping back and perfect seat height this settle is very comfortable. The single plank seat opening to a box base offering superb storage.
A much sought after piece of Welsh country antique furniture this settle is both strong and stable and suitable for daily use. Without doubt one of the best settles to have entered the market in years.
We are well known for the quality of the settles we sell, they are highly practical items and look as well in a hall or kitchen as they do in a living room or parlor. We often sell them to people looking for attractive storage solutions as well as seating and they are most commonly used for storing itmes such as wellingtons and walking boots, kindling and fires starting items, horse riding tack, painting and decorating and odd job items that may freeze or perish if left in an outbuilding.
Both practical and comfortable these antique pieces could not have been made more suited to modern requirements.
