Superb large example of the classic Edwardian roll top office desk in walnut c.1905. Lift the tamboured roll to reveal an exceptional fitted interior with 31 small drawers for dockets, filing and stationery (the wider left and right hand drawers are big enough for sheets of A4 paper) with original brass label holders, plus letter rack and ink stand with original glass inkwells. Unusually the sides of the desk top hinge open to create a more open workspace, locking in place with good quality brass latches. On graduated drawer pedestals with writing slides to the top of each and a double height drawer to the base of the right hand pedestal. With an extra drawer above the kneehole. Note all the pedestal drawers are automatically locked shut when the roll is closed. A superb quality desk with solid walnut raised and fielded panels to the sides and rear, polished on all sides. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
