English 18th Century Antique Oak Lambing Chair.
18th Century Antique Oak Lambing Chair.
This early period oak antique lambing chair is in superb, original and complete condition. Originally from the North of England in the 1700's, this antique lambing chair has a bos seat with a lift up lid, this would probably had a simple cushion seat, the lambing chair has wide, flat arms, a panelled back and sides whilst the top has a shaped rail. All pegged construction and the oak is a wonderful, original colour. Called lambing chairs because farmers used to keep weak lambs with them by the fire, to feed them, then pop them in the box seat! This Georgian antique lambing chair is a very good original example of its type.
