19th.c. French marble top gueridon c.1840 reduced in height to make a splendid feature coffee table. Highly figured grey marble top featuring a shaped edge with concentric rings designed to stop spilt drinks from running off the sides. Flame mahogany veneered apron with large empire style laurel leaf brass mounts. Turned and reeded column on a square plinth with moulded edge, veneered to match, and raised on large carved and gilded claw feet. Unfortunately the marble has been broken into several pieces. Now repaired and reinforced with a wooden board on the rear. Otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
