ELTON SUNFLOWER POTTERY Double Spouted Teapot
ELTON SUNFLOWER POTTERY ARTS AND CRAFTS DOUBLE SPOUT TEAPOT c. 1900 19cm high.
A beautiful and stylish Arts and Crafts richly coloured and glazed marble effect twin spout loop handled antique Elton Sunflower Pottery teapot depicting mythical beasts, with raised slip sunflower and plant form decoration on one side and incised decoration with butterfly and spots on the other. The teapot has the most ingenious supporting horns or lugs emerging from the main body to facilitate balancing of the teapot when pouring.
Sir Edmund Harry Elton established the Sunflower Pottery, at Clevedon in Somerset 1881 - 1922 and principally sold his Sunflower Pottery & Elton Ware through Liberty & Co and Tiffany of New York.
Marks: Signed Elton to base.
