Elm Farmhouse Table with Pair of Oak Bench Seats

A very charming farmhouse table in elm with original three board planked top and substantial original elm frame all with peg joints and having a beautiful patina and natural colour. Quite primitive in form and very attractive, heavy, level and robust. Natural knocks and old losses to the feet, wear to the central stretcher and part of one long edge of the table is a little ragged having had woodworm in the past – but is completely solid and hard with no flaking as this was treated many decades ago and there is no live worm in the table now.
Sold here with a matching pair of late Victorian bench seats in oak. One a little lighter than the other where it has been closest to a window. Again peg jointed and with very thick single board planked oak tops, well turned legs. Both stools are solid and heavy with no movement and are of a good size.
The table would also work well with Windsor chairs or rush seated chairs.
This is a really lovely antique dining set which look great together and would work equally well in a traditional farmhouse kitchen, loft apartment, or modern setting. The stools push under the table when not in use.
The table dates from c. 1780 and the stools from c. 1900
The table and bench seats can be purchased separately – please contact me for prices.
Dimensions of elm table are: 60 inches long, 25.5 inches deep and 30 inches high. Floor to underside of apron is 25 inches.
Dimensions of each bench is: 19 inches high, 14 inches deep at feet, 13 inches deep at tops. 45.5 inches wide max. Depth of solid oak top board is 1.5 inches.
Price for set is £1,300
I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.
I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
