Edwardian Three-Fold Screen Crewel-Work Panels
This attractive three-fold screen dates from c.1905. It has a mahogany frame with glass inserts. The panels have lovely astral-glazed tops and original glazed wool and silk crewel-work panels beneath. It is very elegant in design.
Condition Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition, but does have some wear consistent with age and use. The middle lower panel has a break in the glass and requires replacement. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and a few nicks and dents in the wood. Some of the hinges are missing some of their pins, and the metalwork has some surface corrosion. The crewel-work panels are faded and discoloured and have some significant water staining which also affects the fabric backing.
The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 174cm high
Each Panel - 52cm wide (to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
