Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany revolving office armchair, featuring a serviced reclining and height adjustable mechanism, circa 1910, in excellent original condition.

Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Victorian mahogany revolving office armchair, featuring a serviced reclining and height adjustable mechanism, circa 1910, in excellent original condition. The armchair features a curved shaped bar back, with an elegant curved vertical fan back below. The back connects to shaped arms on shaped vertical supports. The back and arms connect to the solid moulded mahogany “saddle shaped” seat, which displays stunning grain configuration. The chair sits on four splayed mahogany legs that terminate on the original steel & Bakelite castors. The chair incorporates a mechanism allowing it to rotate 360 degrees and recline backwards. The seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair, while the reclining tension can be adjusted by turning the small wheel at the front of the mechanism. The chair mechanism has been restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The mechanism is a Hillcrest mechanism and is embossed as well as having an additional label. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on as it features a lovely moulded seat with a high back.
The armchair features a rich brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

The chair and mechanism are in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame and seat but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The seat is solid and features lovely grain configuration. The original Hillcrest reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a rich brown mahogany colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The chair retains its steel & Bakelite castors, which are also in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.

We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.

A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item.
