This is a pair of antique side chairs. An Oriental, lacquered elbow seat with cane squabs, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880. Attractive and well-proportioned, these chairs delight with their rich lacquer finish and elegant form.
Striking Oriental craftsmanship, graced with wonderful colour and aesthetic appeal
Resplendent in russet lacquer, exhibiting a pleasing depth of tone and aged lustre
Serpentine crest rail and shaped back splat contrast beautifully with the square lower section
Decorative frieze with relief carving lends an ornate touch to the back rest
Bowed arms sweep gracefully outward, supported by twin vertical posts
Seats host taut cane inserts, gently time-worn and full of character
