Edwardian Mahogany Dining Table c.1905 by Warings.
Large Edwardian mahogany dining table of exceptional quality by the celebrated British cabinet makers Waring’s of Liverpool. With four original 18″ table leaves it extends from a circular table of 60″ diameter to a very impressive total length of 11 feet. Featuring two corkscrew mechanisms, one at each end, something we have never encountered before. On good ball and claw legs with a castor hidden in the foot. Very minor wear to the table top, otherwise in excellent condition and a good even colour.
Waring’s of Liverpool merged with the venerable firm Gillows of Lancaster to form Waring and Gillows in 1903. The Warings lable on this table would appear to date from this time.
