Edwardian Filing Cabinet Yawman And Erbe
This Edwardian filing cabinet is an outstanding piece of Edwardian solid oak office antique furniture.
This exquisite multi drawer filing system made by the renowned company ‘Yawman and Erbe’ features a large glazed bookcase to top and a lift up door with bevel edged glass.
This stacks on a multitude of varying size drawers for all your filing needs.
The drawers have brass card holders and handles, and are all in good condition for their age (considering that this would have been used in a busy office environment).
This piece conveniently breaks down into six separate sections for ease of transportation and reassembly. This piece is similar to the Globe Wernicke style bookcase. As you can appreciate, being used on a daily basis, this item will have signs of use and small areas of general wear and tear.
There is a small piece of timber missing from one of the sections, and three or four circular brass turned screws are also missing from the bottom of the drawers. These, we believe, would have held a small rod which would have held card separators. This is an old style form of filing, and not very relevant today.
This is an extremely rare piece of antique furniture, and could be used in any part of a period home or office. Please feel free to contact us for a condition report if you require.
