Maker: Able & Charnell (Thomas Able & Walter James Charnell), Frederick Street, Birmingham.
This is the Mark Mason's Keystone. The letters "HTWSSTKS" represent the mark of the Ancient Grand Master and stand for " Hyram, Tyrian, Widow's Son, Sent To King Solomon" which signify loyalty in Masonic teachings.
There are surface marks associated with normal use and age. The edges of the goldstone show rubbing where a previous owner has worn it on an albert.
Approximate dimensions: 30.5mm long, 20.5mm wide at the top and 11.9mm at the bottom, 9.1mm thick, weight 8.6 grams.
