A fabulous Edna Best for Lawleys 9" Art Deco plate in stunning condition. Hand painted on a buff ground.
In the 1930's Lawleys of London wanted to issue their own range of pottery wares to compete with the popular Clarice Cliff. To add importance to the range which was produced by Pearl Pottery Burslem, they reached an agreement with stage and screen star Edna Best to include her signature on the base of each piece. .
