Early 19th Century Sampler Mary Burton Aged 11 needlework embroidery textile %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This is a delightful early 19th century sampler by Mary Ann Burton aged 11, dated 1823. The sampler is extremely finely embriodered with lovely detail throughout including religeous text, floral borders with flowers, urns and animals. This is a nice early example in its original rosewood frame.
The sampler measures 50 cms by 50 cms overall, including the frame.
