An unusual early 18th. Century George I adapted walnut bookcase / cabinet. The beautifully figured walnut top having a thumb moulded edge above a pair of glazed doors both retaining very good etched brass hinges and feather banding with brass closing strip and escutcheons. The doors open to a faded velvet lining with 2 shelves. The sides having good brass carrying handles and the etched brass hinge returns. The whole raised on a cross grain moulding and ogee bracket feet. Condition- Very good, warm colour and working lock with keys. Dimensions:- Height…42.5’’/ 108cm. Width…37’’/ 94cm. Depth…12’’/ 31cm. Interior Shelf Depth…9.5’’/ 24cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £55.
