A good early 18th Century oak panel coffer, with original hinges and attractive full length stiles. The interior has a candle box and is lined with newspaper and a pretty vintage wallpaper. The oak has a rich, deep patination that has benefited from years of polishing and loving care. There are some historic restorations as you would expect with a well used early 18th Century piece of antique furniture. The charming small proportions make this a useful piece for the end of a bed or sofa or in a hallway to display treasures and provide a welcoming feel to the home.
