Duncan Grant Pencil and Watercolour of Ellen Terry
Attributed to Duncan Grant. A study by Duncan Grant for a portrait of the 19th and early 20th century actress Ellen Terry. Commissioned by Kenneth Clark in 1933, other subjects he requested by Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell included Marie Antoinette, Greta Garbo and Queen Victoria. The final portraits were to be reproduced on a set of dinner plates. The work has been authenticated by The Bloomsbury Workshop. A copy of the email is on the back of the frame but names have been edited for the photo.
