Dudson Staffordshire Pen Holder Tipsy Lawyer
An amusing Staffordshire pottery figural pen holder by the Dudson factory, c.1840, depicting the "tipsy lawyer" slumped over a barrel with his wig starting to slide off. Number 37 marked to the base.
It measures 10cm (4") by 7cm (2 3/4") wide and 9.5cm (3 3/4") high.
Condition is fair: there is a small area of professional restoration to the edge of the base. Some discolouration to the glaze on the barrel and a very small chip to the underside of his foot and a hairline across his ankle. Some crazing to his legs and wear to the gilt on his shoes, collar and cuffs and beer mug. Christmas Posting we are posting up until Monday 23rd December!
Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
We wish to ensure all our customers are happy with their purchases and offer a full no quibble return policy for all items returned within 14 days. We ask that returns are notified within 7 days where possible. Return postage is the buyer's responsibility in terms of cost and safeguarding the item through transit.
