Dresden Porcelain Monkey Band Figure Violin Player
A sweet late 19th century Dresden porcelain monkey band figure of a violin player. Finely painted dressed in a powder blue jacket with yellow striped breaches and lilac and floral striped waistcoat and wearing a wide brimmed pink hat. Underglaze blue crossed swords marks to base and incised numerals.
He measures 13.3cm (5 1/4") high and 6cm (2 1/8") wide.
Condition: the bow is broken off where it meets the violin and the head of the violin is broken off below his left hand. A small chip to the rim at the back of his hat. No restoration. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
