Edwardian walnut desk top filing cabinet c.1905. Originally intended for filing index cards, would make a great collector’s cabinet or as storage for artist materials, stationery or antique jewellery perhaps. 15 small drawers (internal dimensions: width 5″, height 3½”, length 17″) with original brass label holder handles and fitted inside with a sliding divider (locking with a brass screw) on a steel bar and slot in the base. Superb quality, in solid walnut with panelled sides and rear and oak drawer linings. Drawers are held in with a patent catch mechanism which can be turned to allow the drawers to be slid all the way out of the cabinet if required. Maker’s label for the Library Supply Co above the top centre drawer. With a repair to one of the drawer fronts and some minor wear. Otherwise excellent original colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Dividers can be easily removed if preferred.
