A rare Mug designed by David Gentleman for the David Mellor shop in James Street Covent Garden and produced by Haxby Ceramics. Mellor was regarded as one of Britains best known designers, particulaly for his cutlery. His shops featured only the finest homewares and a very small number of these mugs, with images of Covent Garden's Central Market, were produced for retail. David Gentleman studied illustration under Edward Bawden and John Nash at the Royal Colledge of Art and his work is highly sought after.
The mug is 10.5 cm high and 11cm dia.
In perfect condition with no issues.
