A beautiful English Victorian butter dish made from a combination of EPNS (Electro-Plated Nickel Silver) and a heavy piece of crystal.

The removable crystal dish is thick, heavy and tactile, hand-cut with the ever popular hobnail design. The silver plated stand sits on four elegant feet and the four corner supports are topped with a charming figural Cherub or Putti figure.

The underside is marked by the silversmith, I believe for William Shirtcliffe and Sons of Sheffield and dates to around 1880.

Excellent condition measuring 7 1/2" x 6 3/4" x 5" tall to top of lid finial.
