A most unusual Country House Style of Victorian Gothic. This is a heavily carved piece in Oak depicting the initials W E and would have been a commission for a castle or baronial home. The cupboard is a very impressive piece of antique furniture made by a fine cabinet maker. There are two door openings to the interior which was presumably used for some form of storage. This could also be used as a console for a large piece of sculpture.
